iFail

Move that body: Umm, does putting away laundry count?

I.

Dropped.

My.

iPod.

In.

The.

Bathtub.

And, yes. There was water in it.

I am so sad.

And it's all my fault.

Except not.

Because I can't help but be enamored with "The Help."

I couldn't stop listening even to take a bath.

And my iPod fell in the tub.

I pulled it out quickly and it kept playing.

Except it now pauses randomly.

According to message boards, I should have turned it off immediately and let it dry for a few days.

I couldn't.

I wanted to listen to more of my book.

And so now my iPod nano (5th generation) may be ruined.

Or suffer a fate of pausing randomly.

I have no idea what I'm going to do for the next 9 weeks when I turn to long walks more and more.

Heck, I need it when I run because my pace bores me.

I am sad.

  2. ahhh it's probably too late and I don't even know if this WORKS on iPods, but it worked on my iPhone - turn it off and throw it in a sealed tupperware container with a lot of rice (uncooked rice, obviously). Put it in the warmest place in your house and leave it alone for at least 24 hours (in your case 48 may be better). If you can suck the water out of it it may be salvageable...

  3. Oh no! I would just let it dry out. It happened to me with one of the 1st ipods and like 10 days later it worked.

  4. LOVE the title of your post - iFail - too stinking creative!!! You're awesome. I'm super sad for the recent drowning of you ipod. Dude -how much does that suck!! Yikes girl - ummm, not sure when it happened, but they say to put a cell phone that gets wet into a bag of rice (uncooked) - it's suppose to absorb the water. Might be worth a try. You might have to get the printed version to read while bathing from now on :(
