You are awesome and such an inspiration!! I read your article in Women's Day. I have been struggling to lose weight for years and after reading your article, it gives me the encouragement to keep trying and to finally succeed!
Thanks for sharing your story! I have always struggled with my weight and I am determined that 2012 is my year to shine! Look forward to following your blog, thanks WW for the introduction!
Just this evening I finally had time to read the womans Day I bought a while back. Your story was amazing, and you are such an inspiration. I am your newesg follower. Happy New Year. Hugs, Ellen
It's always good to know that there are people out there that understand their weight gain was affecting them negatively and they had to make a change. What you did was amazing!
Just started the journey. You're an inspiration that with determination and hard work it can be done. Down 10 lbs haven't moved south on the scale in 20 years. I hope this time I can make this a life change and not just another diet.
I am just starting my journey and I am not afraid to say I am scared to death of failing again! Your journey is an inspiration and I am determined to have one of my own to share!!
wow you are amazing now .. I am only hoping to be half as motivated as you are and stick to it. I am scared to fail and fall back into a slump but I am only 33 with a daughter and i want to be able to do stuff with her. I ready you walked a mile and a half to begin .. i am hoping even if i can only do half a mile to start or one that will be enough to get the ball rollling ... you inspire normal people like myself
Congratulations on your success! You are an inspiration to all. I read about your journey online and think you are awesome. Now it is my turn to give it a go as I have struggled with my weight for years and years. Thank you for your blog.
This is to you and Tina B who posted yesterday (1/20/2012); YOU are an inspiration. I haven't started my journey and Need to DESPERATELY. I'm afraid. I've failed so much in the past and just haven't gotten the courage to try again. I don't "over eat". I just don't exercise. At all.
Wow. I am so gld that I saw your story on yahoo. I have been heavy all my life and 2012 is my year! I have joined weight watchers and have already lost 9.6# my first month. Thanks for putting yourself out there to remind me that yes I can do it!!!
WOW...I loved the article on Yahoo and just had to come to this site and post a CONGRATS to you!!! I wish you and yours much happiness and a long life together! God Bless you :)
Congrats on your success. Continued success to you. I too have lost a lot of unwanted pounds and ran my first marathon in December 2010. I know that feeling of triumph. I have also blogged my journey which most just keeps me accountable. :)
Also read your story on Yahoo! Thanks for sharing your story. You've inspired me: "To be the person you want to be, you have to act like that person." Thanks for keeping it real by including the pic from July 2009. It's nice to know that journey's aren't always a straight shot:) Best wishes for you and your family!
I read your story on Yahoo. Congratulations! Your amazing journey is such an inspiration. I am finally making progress with my weight loss as well and seeing and reading that others have succeeded is such an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your story with others.
You go girl! And your timing is impeccable. I just joined a gym last week and signed up with a personal trainer and dietician and was thinking about where to find inspiration. And then I saw your story today on Yahoo! You are truly an inspiration!!
Just read your story on Yahoo! Congrats on your success. I have about 100 lbs left to lose (down 35 so far). You have truly inspired me. Thank you for sharing your journey!
You are so beautiful and amazing!I am so encouraged by you and your story and thank you for sharing your journey with all of us!You are an inspiration!
I am inspired to continue the healthy lifestyle change that I just began. When we celebrated my daugther's first birthday this week, I realized that I could no longer pretend to be "swollen" from a new baby. She was officially born last year. No excuses. Seeing you on Yahoo! has given me that motivation to keep going and to have a great and healthy weekend. Keep up the great work. I know your child and future children will appreciate your hard work!!
Truly amazing...I am a Physician Assistant in Primary Care and your story on Yahoo! caught my eye. It is a daily struggle for me to motivate my patient's to lose weight. I cannot count the visits every month requesting weight loss pills or a referral for bariatric surgery. I have never had a weight problem but nonetheless I exercise hard 5 days a week and eat a well balanced, healthy diet. I hope to send some of my folks to your blog, to see a real person doing really amazing things. Thanks for sharing your story with the world.
AWESOME job!! I am so proud of you for sticking with it! I hope that I can do the same, I have about 120 to lose, and I plan on trying to pick up as many tips from you as I can!
Thanks for the inspiration. I, too, lost my mother due to morbid obesity at 63 yrs. I gained 80 lbs. in one year in my early 20's due to PCOS and insulin resistance and have continually struggled with my weight since then. I have been offered both weight loss medications AND bariatric surgery from a variety of doctors and refused both because I know in my heart that I can do this on my own. I'm 30 lbs lighter than when I got married 12 years ago, and only have about 50 more pounds to go. People like you make me believe in myself even more. Thank you SO much:) Best wishes in your healthy lifestyle.
I would just like to say THANK YOU! Thank you for inspiring me and others and showing us IT IS POSSIBLE! I have been battling weight loss for years, and reading your story has made me believe in myself again! THANK YOU!!
Your story is inspiring. I am 40 and very obese. As heart attacks run in my family, I worry that I will not be around for my children...yet I still cannot seem to stay on a diet...I hope your story will help me to do what I need to do.
You are beautiful and amazing. Reading your story is inspiring me to want to actually try to lose the weight. I don't have to do it all in one week. thank you :)
Thanks for sharing your pictures! The change is amazing and so inspiring. I know you must be so proud! The best part is that you're obviously so much healthier now and the better looks is just a bonus! Keep up the good work!
Thank you for sharing your story - you are an inspiration to many of us that are facing the grueling journey of weight loss. I've lost 80 pounds to date, and have 80 more to lose. On difficult days, its helpful to visit your site - it keeps me focused on the goal. THANK YOU!
Oh my gosh! I am so happy for you. You are my hero. I need to lose 150 pounds. I have tried everything weight watchers, jenny craig, many book remedies and nothing works. It does in the beginning but then I put weight on after I quit plus more. I realize if you are going to lose weight you have to train your brain to do it. I can do anything when my brain is programmed to do so. So my first start is to get a journal and track everything down like you did and do it slow and never give up. Thank you for this inspirational story.
You have amazing courage!!! You never gave up!!! You have fought your battle with such tenasity..You are an inspiration to me and sooooo many others...keep up the good fight....its about so much more than just weight!!!
Oh, my goodness, gracious, me as my great grandma used to say! WOW! What an inspiration and what a blessing you are to me today! Thanks! Awesome! Thank God for your story today! Emily
Many years of good health to you. In reading the comments, your story was genuinely inspirational to others. And you are right about "being public", it is a reminder that you now have committed this succesful journey not only for yourself but to a world of women (men) who need this kind of HOPE. My "fats" off to you ! :)
Hello Kimberly thank you so much for sharing your story! I will start writing down everything I eat just like you. I have to check out that video that you use to exercise too :-) also, I will start letting my hair being curly again. Because looking at your pictures I have to make you a compliment which has nothing to do with your weight at all: your beautiful curly red hair is so special, and same for your cute smile and smiley eyes! I guess it's true that inner beauty can never be hidden, no matter how your weight status is. Oh and last but not least I'm really sorry for your mum but really happy that you got your cute son Miles :-) only my very best wishes to you Kim and thank you again! Nadine
Oh and I just wondered what your color type is. Did you ever check it? Because the light green cardigan and the yellow in your dress looks so great on you. I'm guessing automn-spring like myself but I am not sure. It's definately in the warm section though (meaning cool colors like blue and black etc. are too harsh for your lovely face). but i'm no professional. If you are an automn-spring, you'd be looking at anything warm and "yellowish" greens, beige, light warm yellow, light warm oranges, all of it quite subtle (caus the automn colors would be too dark for you mostly and the spring ones too bright). However I'm really not sure. Just guessing :-) could also be a true automn or true spring. Anyway anything that brings out your beautiful hairs the best and gives you a beautiful lip color, opens up your eyes and makes wrinkles disappear is a good color (actually when comparing colors you can look at these sections and see how they appear). Good luck to you :-)
Hi! I wish I can do just like what you did to lose weight. An inspiration indeed. And after reading your story and your tips, I will follow every tips you have shared to us. Thanks for giving it to us. :)
Hi, You have truly inspired me to continue doing what I am doing...I too embarked on a weight loss journey as well. I must admit that I have had good days along with bad, but I continue to press on. I wanted to know if you did any special exercises for your arms? If so, which would you recommend? Thanks for sharing your journey with me and the rest of the world, for you have inspired so many who have struggled or is struggling with their weight, again THANKS!
Wow! What an inspirational story! A story that sounds a lot like mine. One day my story will have the amazing success yours did as well. Keep up the great work and inspiration!
Hi, I am a teenager and I am a bit overweight. I would love to participate in more sports without thinking about what people are thinking of me (if you know what I mean). I would really like to loose about 20lbs. Yet I can't seem to do it. I always ask my mom to buy healthier foods but since she is always busy and I am as well, I cook quicker foods or even just snack unhealthier and I am not sure what to do. I always try to do more exercises but I can't seem to be motivated. Do you have any tips or ideas of what I can do?
You are such an inspiration!
