Weekly Training Update {10/19/15-10/25/15}

Ouch.

Oochy, ouchy, oh.

Every step I took for the first few days after the Bourbon Chase hurt. My quads and inner thighs screamed, my abs felt tight. It was like I had spent a weekend riding the horses of Kentucky not running its hills. It looked so sexy, let me tell you  especially when I tried walking down the steps.

I was in so much pain that I was really questioning how I was going to teach class on Monday but somehow I pulled it out. I just kept it easy on squats. And lunges. Deadlifts forever! I'm sure my participants were really disappointed.

As far as running, my plan for the week was to do what I can, not get wrapped in running a certain amount of miles and let my legs dictate the distance and pace of my runs. On Tuesday, I shuffled through a few easy miles and was able to eke out 5 on Thursday thanks to some bad math.

Here's how the week shook out:

Monday, October 19
X-TRAIN | Circuit class
Time: 45 minutes

Tuesday, October 20
RUN | 3.1 miles
Time: 28:57     Pace: 9:20

Wednesday, October 21
X-TRAIN | Boxing fusion class
Time: 45 minutes

Thursday, October 22
RUN | 5.1 miles
Time: 47:55     Pace: 9:23

X-TRAIN | Boxing fusion class
Time: 45 minutes

Friday, October 23
RUN | 5.5 miles
Time: 50:30     Pace: 9:10

Saturday, October 24
RUN | 10 miles
Time: 1:41:00

  1. Reading your recap of Bourbon Chase totally makes me want to do a relay. It never seems to work out quite right. I need to just commit. The boxing fusion class sounds awesome. I need to add some more variety back in.

Just decided that I might, big might depending on my May race goes, do the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon next November....

    1. I have dreams of having all of my favorite blog friends coming together for a relay. Because it would be AWESOME. I'd really like to do two if I can next year but it's a lot on a lot of levels. Le sigh.

Oh, you tease about Indy! My friends are running it this weekend, and I've heard good things.
