I read your article on yahoo.com, and give you a lot of credit for all of this. It is an amazing accomplishment. I saw that your mother died from obesity, and I guess, I understand how that is a motivator... however, most of my family died from heart attacks (and are overweight), and I don't find it motivating at all.
So I guess my question is, what KEEPS you motivated? What makes you get up and do this every day now that you've reached your goal?
I run 4 miles about 4 times per week and I have to absolutely FORCE myself to do it. I look at photos of morbidly obese people and tell myself I don't want to look like that. However, I hate it. Absolutely hate it. If I had a fast metabolism I'd never work out at all. Ever. As far as food goes, I'd like to be thinner, but I tend to allow my hunger and desire for tasty food to override that. I can't reconcile the suffering that would go into losing 20lbs with the reward that losing it would be.
So I guess I'm just curious. I'd like some advice. Again, I give you a lot of credit for doing it on your own. Congratulations.
You've probably seen this "11 Random Things" posting going around the blogosphere. I got tagged and have tagged you--it is actually pretty fun, but no pressure if you don't have time!
I LOVE this! Good working, Miles! :)
