Short sighted

Move that body: 30-minutes “Joy of Yoga” DVD (a.m.) and 2.2-mile run (p.m.)

I just wanted to thank you all for your encouragement and support with this morning’s post. It was turbo awesome of you all!

Jillian Michaels’ “Ripped in 30” kicked my bootay yesterday. I woke up this morning all kinds of sore. My shoulders … back … hamstrings … inner thighs … armpits.

Awesome, no?

I tried some yoga to stretch me out but when I was still saying, “Ow, ow, ow,” up the stairs this afternoon  at work, I thought a short little run might do me some good. Even if it was a SLOW two miles on the basement treadmill after Miles went to bed.

Just one problem: I wasn’t so sure I could do it without these shorts …

shortsAre these not the most ridiculous thing you have ever seen?

Thankfully, Mother Nature was on my side. She provided me with the perfect fall afternoon for running – sunny and crisp without being too cold. It was so perfect that I put off dinner, eating a half PB&J, so I could take out my boys.

The plan was a quick two miles. Or as quick as I could reasonably manage as it was my first run with the stroller since I ditched the intervals. Let me tell you, it was a wake up call to push the BOB up the hills around the golf course! My tortured-by-Jillian legs were screaming. I had to tell myself to go slow and steady … and tell Denali to “MUSH!”

Just kidding.

Maybe.

Did you enjoy the weather today?

  1. It was good weather for a run...getting a bit cool though! 45 when I went out tonight to run!! It's hard to dress for it because you will either be cold at first or hot at the end of your run. I was hot at the end tonight and over dressed!

  2. It was great. Too bad I felt like crap (major headache) after work and didn't get to enjoy it with a run. I did walk the dog though.

  5. I love when the weather changes to fall and it's perfect for running! BOB is going to give you some big arm muscles :) It was so cold last night as I was walking around the City, the weather changed so quickly.

  7. Umm, I spent a somewhat stalkerish amount of time reading your blog this morning. I really like it. (And I promise I'm not as creepy as I just made myself sound.)
